When was the last time you learnt something new? When you felt that urge to develop your skills? To grow? To oil those brain cells?
During my university days, I had a one-track mind. All I learnt was psychology. And while I love what I do, in a way, this was quite restrictive. Once I was done with uni, I just wanted a break from studying. But it didn’t last long.
I discovered other things to learn. I dabbled with learning to play the guitar. I spent a whole year attending creative writing classes which I absolutely loved. I tried to learn Italian for a couple of terms and only stopped because I wasn’t a fan of remaining indoors on a weeknight and limiting my social options. 😛 I continue to have that itch to learn new things.
Currently, photography is on the list. Writing continues to exist on my list of things to develop. Psychological skills are always there to continue my professional development. And then there’s the physical things — learning pilates, some sport, maybe yoga. I love learning to cook new dishes. Try out new recipes.
In short, yes, I love learning. Learning keeps my life full and worth while.
It keeps life interesting.
And keeps my brain ticking.
