March 2014. The first month of autumn. At least on this side of the world.
March was a fulfilling month. Sure, it’s a month where I finally realised just how burnt out I am. I have been a bit more irritable than usual and taking a break from the gym to rest my tired body didn’t actually help last week as my mind was fucked. But overall, March has generally been good. It started with a wonderful hike and camping trip down at Bungonia National Park and then a couple of weekends ago, I went away with friends up to Lake Macquarie for a relaxing weekend.
I was grateful to be able to see Lionel Shriver in person. And excitedly speak her. I also watched an amazing theatrical production of To Kill a Mockingbird. It’s still running! I realised that life is short as I heard of an acquaintance’s passing. The feminist in me had a good time in March with pondering about the F-word itself as well as the whole new drama around being bossy. I also spent the final Sunday of the month attending the All About Women festival at the Opera House. I just didn’t get a chance to blog about it. But can I just say, I have been thoroughly inspired by Mona Eltahawy. She is an amazing woman!
It has been a good blogging month with me participating in the Write Tribe Festival of Words for the first week. I hosted my first Blog Hop about the a lesson you would teach your younger self. And I also revealed my theme for the A to Z Challenge which begins tomorrow! I am also going to be participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge because 4 more posts are not going to hurt!
So here’s to a busy April! And I can’t wait for the Easter and Anzac break. I so need it!
How was March for you?
Until next time,
