I love music. It’s something I listen to almost every day. If I’m at the gym or driving, there has to be some music playing. If it’s neither, there tends to be a song in my head. Sometimes I regret not learning to play an instrument when younger — imagine how much more exciting life could have been?!
However, I do have a confession. I have some embarrassing CDs in my collection. I am very open about being a rock chick. I love my rock music and alternative stuff. But there are some secrets. Which I will share with you today.
Yes, I own Abba’s best of CD collection and still occasionally enjoy Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Winner Takes it all, Fernando and other Abba favourites. I must say, they definitely come in handy when we’ve been to karaoke — Abba is the best for karaoke!
I cannot believe I own this CD. I missed the Australian Idol where he didn’t win and his whole ‘What about me‘ phase given that I wasn’t in Australia at the time. I heard the release of his second one and somehow got sucked in. I guess some of his music was a bit upLIFTing. In my defense, I was 21. And naive, And hadn’t yet come across Jet or Powderfinger…
Oh. My. God. Train wreck anyone? I guess to be fair, their first album wasn’t too bad. They actually sang. That was before the twins went downhill and came out with some trashy music. Needless to say, I don’t listen to their first album any more.
I still own Boyzone CDs in MP3 format but rarely listen to it. I still remember my teenage years singing ‘It’s only words’ or ‘Everyday I love you’ or ‘No matter what’. Yeah, at my daggiest best. What was I thinking? Um, well, I dunno. Teenage brains. In love with Ronan Keating at the time,
Well, technically, I don’t own the CD any more as it’s at my parent’s place. But it’s one I certainly want to get rid off. Unless my sister wants to take ownership of it. Again, ‘I want it that way’ with the corny moves and everything?! What the…??
So what about you? Have you got any embarrassing music in your collection?
Until next time,
