Life lessons

I did something unusual today. I drove home from work without having the radio switched on. And consequently, realised I could hear a lot of things…

…the whirring of the engine.

…the squeaky sound when I hit the brakes.

…the whooshing of cars driving past.

…the clickety-click of the indicator.

…the sound of my own breath.

…the hum of the heater.

…the sound of tyres on the wet road.

…the difference between the sounds of a truck versus a small car versus a four-wheel drive.

…the chirping of birds on a quieter street.

…the unusual sound when you hit grooves on the road.

…the voices in my head.

Okay. So not really voices but the occasional thoughts that were running through my head.

It’s funny though what the result of a headache can be. You actually listen to things around you. And despite doing the same thing every single day, it can suddenly be seen in a whole new light!

Until next time,

The voices in my head are always the loudest when the radio is off.
Hope you feel better soon 🙂

I sometimes cant silence the voices in my head. That aspect of me definitely needs to be pscyhoanalysed! :p

I love travelling by the bus and just listening to everything around me. Makes it far more interesting the ride.

I must try this too. I always have music on when driving.

I almost always have the radio on when in the car and you’re right, it’s amazing what you’ll notice when it’s not on.

when you turn into the silence…there are voices all over…some you like some leave you unhappy and some yet to explore…
